UNTOUCHABLE WOMAN IN TANZANIA...Dr Asha-Rose Migiro Also Eyeing the Presidency

The Minister of Justice and Constitution Affairs Dr Asha-Rose Migiro joined the presidential race yesterday by picking up nomination form promising to implement the priorities which will be stipulated in Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) manifesto.
 
Migiro, the former United Deputy Secretary General, is seeking CCM’s nomination for the presidency.
 
“By implementing the part’s manifesto I will build an independent and modern economy which will benefit all Tanzanians,” Dr Migiro said.
 
The minister said she would set up strong strategies to develop the existing achievements made by the current government to ensure that all people enjoy the benefits.
 
On her capabilities, she said she had secured the United Nation post not as a reward,  friendship or gift but due to her good work performance and good reputation of Tanzania.
 
She noted that she got the position after a stiff competition and got appointed as the Deputy Secretary.
 
Earlier, the Vice President Dr Mohamed Gharib Bilal and Transport Minister, Samwel Sitta returned the Presidential nomination forms after fulfilling the CCM conditions that required every aspirant to have 450 guarantors from 15 regions in both Tanzania Mainland and the Isles.
 
Sitta and Bilal were welcomed by CCM Deputy Secretary General (Mainland), Rajab Luhwavi.  Sitta arrived at the party’s headquarters in Dodoma at around 08:57 hours. He submitted the forms with names and signatures of 1,026 supporters.
 
Sitta proudly noted that he is a leader of standards and speed. He said the increased number of CCM aspirants vying for Presidency is an indication of growing democracy within the party.
 
According to Sitta, a good number of CCM members volunteered to sponsor him whereas in some regions he received 500 extra supporters.
 
He refuted spreading claims that he was using a government vehicle. The minister said his crew travelled across all the regions using a bus Youtong model with registration number T 542 DBE which was hired from Arusha.
 
Sitta picked up the Presidential nomination form on June 5.
